Anyone who has been fishing here will have seen the map the bailiffs provide for you. It has served us well over the years and gave anglers a fighting chance of aiming at an underwater feature without having to thrash a marker rod around your swim. The map was a great little tool, but it was only an artists impression of the lake, and did not really show you the full picture under the water. There is so much information about the lake that we couldn’t put on the map as it would have made it pretty much unreadable. So it just contained the average depths at various intervals with some of the main features outlined.
As technology evolves and we advance further into a digital age where almost everyone has the internet in the palm of their hand. We knew that we had to take our map to the next level, so this weekend we had our lake mapped using the latest technology and will now show you the full story of what is really out there! The technology uses a combination sonar, GPS and satellite images to give you the clearest picture swim by swim. A digital copy will be available so you can zoom in to exactly where you are casting to in the palm of your hand. There will be a paper based version in the spring, and a copy will be in the lakeside bailiffs office.
We have known Andy and Tommy from Below The Surface for a couple of years now through various fishing connections, and as soon as we knew they had started a lake mapping service, I was on their case straight away! They both are some of the nicest people you will ever meet in the business and I wish them the very best of luck with their new venture. I cannot wait to see the results, Thanks fellas!
Once the map is completed you can click on the link below and view it on their website. You can purchase a digital copy there and then to keep forever.
